Rimshot Quick Start
We strongly recommend that you print the following instructions so they can be used for
downloading and initial use of the program. To print this page, simply click on File
-> Print, or right-click with your mouse anywhere on this page and
click Print.
Download Rimshot
- First, on the Internet, access the Rimshot website at www.liverworks.com/Rimshot or click here.
- Go to download and click where indicated.
- Click on Open. Installation will proceed automatically. At License
Agreement check the small box indicating your agreement, then keep hitting next
until installation is complete.
Starting Rimshot
- At this point, you will have a Rimshot icon on your tabletop or you may access it by
hitting Start -> Programs -> Rimshot.
- Click on the Rimshot icon or on Rimshot in the program menu. When asked to
register Rimshot, click No (unless you want to pay in advance).
- A Rimshot shortcut form will appear on the right hand side of your monitor. This
form can be minimized (taken off the screen, while still being used) by clicking the
button with the flat bar in the upper right-hand corner of the Rimshot form. To
bring the form back on your monitor, simply click on Rimshot in your task bar.
- Rimshot is now running. It will immediately begin monitoring your web usage and
will automatically fill in text boxes, check boxes, etc. whenever you return to a web
page. Several different manual entries may be required at first to fully activate
Rimshot.
- For Single Entry Sweepstakes, enter the sweepstakes URL, fill in the
blanks and submit. This is all that is required. After entering a few sweeps, the form
will be filled in automatically. For multiple entry sweeps, see below:
Creating Rimshot Shortcuts
For Multiple-Entry Sweepstakes, it is helpful to set up a shortcut
that will both allow you to quickly return to a contest as well as remind you when to
return.
- Enter a sweepstake website as you normally would and navigate to the web page that
you'd like to be able to quickly return to.
Once you have the web page opened, you may
or may not wish to proceed to the actual page where the entries are made before
transferring to the Shortcut Form. Whatever page of the website you are on will be
the page that appears when you activate the shortcut. Once you have the page you wish to
transfer to the shortcut form:
- Click on the Add to Shortcuts button on Rimshot (near the top of the
form).
- A form will be displayed with the following fields:

Click on the menu arrow and select how often a sweepstake can be entered (Daily,
Monthly, etc.). This determines the color code indicating when it can be re-entered. |

Enter the date the sweepstake started or leave the date you started entering
the sweepstake. Click the arrow to see a calendar. |
| Contest Ends |
Enter the final date the sweepstake can be entered. When the last allowable
entry date is reached, the color code will turn gray with an "x" in it. |

- After filling in the information you want, click OK. The contest will be added to the
Rimshot shortcut list.
- Double-click on the contest title in the shortcut menu to open it. Complete the
form and submit it.
- The color will end up being green after submitting and will not change until it can be
entered again.
- Shortcuts will have different icons depending on their status. A red icon means
that the contest is ready for another entry. Double-clicking on the contest title in
the Shortcut Form brings the web page up for entry again. (See color codes on the
Help menu.)
- Information entered when transferring the Sweepstakes to the Shortcut menu can be
changed by right-clicking on the contest title and clicking Edit, or can
be completely deleted by clicking Remove.
For further assistance in using Rimshot simply click on any Rimshot form and press F1
for help. |
