2013-06-23 tl;dr: Another day of hiking in the White Mountains. Another day of hiking in the White Mountains. I hiked up to Lonesome Lake and then, inadvertently, Cannon Mountain. I was planning on taking it easy today, but then I took a wrong turn. Once I realized I had taken a wrong turn, I decided the trail couldn't get too bad. I was wrong. But it was still interesting. A night of rain and high humidity ensured that the mostly-rock trails were very slick. Often the trail was so steep that I had to throw my hiking staff ahead of me and climb. I only slipped once, and I have the rashes to prove it. |
