2005-09-29 Mountains in Arkansas? Who knew? > |
|
2005-09-28 After waking up at about 4 AM on the edge of Florida, I cruised across the state line into Alabama and kept on moving until I hit Mississippi. In Mississippi, I drove through De Soto National Forest and Bienville National Forest. Even though most of the driving was through rolling hills of wooded land, all I could see was images in my head from the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." Up to an hour's drive into Mississippi can be seen the affects of Hurricane Katrina. It looks like Paul Bunyan chucked the axe, got himself a giant weed whacker and developed an attitude toward Mississippi. After a few miles of cotton fields in Louisiana I made my way into Arkansas and drove until I ran out of daylight. Believe it or not I'm driving with purpose even if I'm not driving very fast. I'm not in a hurry, so I cruise along at low speeds in order to get better mileage. |
