2015-10-03 tl;dr: I wimped out early and found a hotel room because I was cold and wet. I woke up more dry than when I went to sleep, so that's something. But I was covered in itchy welts. I can't imagine how insects could have gotten to me through multiple layers of wet clothing. Perhaps I'm alergic to wet clothes.Today was cold, windy and rainy. The temperature never reached 50 degrees, the wind never fell below 20 mph, and the sun didn't even hint at peeking through the clouds. I dug out a few remaining layers to deal with the cold and rain. Whether the wind was for or against me, it was still cold. I wore my rain jacket, but that simply ensured that my sweaty, wet clothes underneith would never dry out. Such a miserable day. Or I am just wimpy. Yeah, I'm probably just a wimp. I ended up in Gordon early afternoon. After eating lunch at the Antelope Creek Cafe, I determined that I was not going to warm up or dry out easily. I didn't want to buck wind to the next town, so I paid for a hotel room and cranked up the heater. |
