2015-10-22 tl;dr: I peddled from Casper, Wyoming to Independence Rock. Mostly in the rain. Today started off foggy. The sun poked out for all of five minutes, and then it rained the rest of the day. The forecast called for a 30 percent chance for rain. I think we got all thirty percent.Once out of Casper I simply biked the edge of Highway 220 heading west. There are no dirt or side roads here. Fortunately the highway has a wide shoulder. It seemed like I spent most of the day biking along the Pathfinder Ranch. I looked it up. It's 140000 acres. That's a ranch. I made it to Independence Rock Historical Site just before dark. I set up my tent in the rain in the ranchlands behind the rock. The rain was more of a mist, so I wasn't saturated. Also, the rain should keep the temperature from falling too much. |
