2015-10-28 tl;dr: I peddled from Craig to Meeker, Colorado, where I will stop for a few days because I am a wimp. I don't know what is worse, the cold weather or the fact that I'm getting used to it. Even so, peddling (and walking) over Yellow Jacket Pass, I had to put on another layer even as I got the warmest part of the day. 7000 feet is still kicking my butt, though.Mule deer must be in rut now. I saw bucks in addition to the does and fawns I normally see everywhere. I only peddled about fifty miles from Craig to Meeker, Colorado. I would like to go farther, but the forecast calls for rain and snow over the next two days. I'm not that tough. In Meeker I found the Rustic Lodge, where the owners are super friendly. They gave me the normal rate even though it is hunting season. Hunters get to pay more, because they are rough on rooms I'm told. Apparently, one group butchered a deer in a bathtub. |
