2009-03-05 I sure can't wait until I make it to one of those southern states where I hear the weather is supposed to be nice this time of year. Hey...Wait a second! Climbing on a bike when it's still thirty degrees is tough, especially when the wind chill gods punish you for peddling. Fortunately, the temperature took a forty degree upswing over the course of the day. If you like straight roads and miles and miles of pine trees I can recommend a good route. I had two people flag me down today. Both just wanted to see what I was doing. The first guy was a salesman. The second was retired and lived out of his van as he traveled around the country. It was a nice van. I made it to the Okefenokee Swamp in time for the 3 PM boat tour. Nobody else showed up so I received a personal tour. This allowed for more questions. After she used up the more polite questions, the guide asked me, "so what's up with those shoes?". Freak shoes, remember. I will include a picture another day. Or you can google "vibram fivefingers kso" today. I highly recommend the swamp tour if you happen to be passing through this area. Especially if you like alligators. And spiders. Wait another month for everything to turn green, though.
