2009-04-23 I'm finding these hills to be very tiring. But that just means I need to build up my strength, because these hills around here are just a warm-up for what is to come. I am also wondering if maybe I'm tired because of a salt deficiency. I snagged some salt packets from a gas station. I won't overdue it, but it should be an interesting experiment.Something I've noticed down here: Many dogs are kept in their yards with electric fences. Like livestock. It sure seems to work, as I can't think of a better reason to jump such a fence than a big juicy bicycle. I stopped at a shed because I spotted a hose. The owner, Jason, noticed me. Turns out him and his friends took five small airplanes all the way around the US and Canada on a two month tour. Oddly enough, because their planes were so small, they were faced with much the same packing constraints as I am. They are currently planning a similar tour for the Caribbean. It sounds like fun, but I'm still leaning toward sailing. Once again I didn't do many miles today. But I can use work as a convenient excuse. By the way, I am now also updating on twitter.
