2009-05-02 Work has finally caught up with me. I am affecting a course change that will put me at a customer site next week. Is it just me or are McDonald's breakfast sandwiches and hash browns getting smaller? I have finally left the crazy people of Hot Springs behind. And I mean crazy in the medical sense. Using Google Maps to plan your route doesn't always work out. Somehow I ended up in the middle of a giant forest crisscrossed by dirt logging roads. At least I didn't have to deal with any cars for the few hours I was in there. I had to stop multiple times today as storms rolled through. Between the humidity in the morning, the creek crossings in the forest roads and the rain storms the rest of the day, I never did quite get dry. At my last stop in Mineral Springs I was given free ice cream, though. I am camped just south-east of Mineral Springs. I am effectively in somebody's yard. At one point I thought I was discovered as a couple of vehicles pulled into the long driveway and stopped momentarily. Later, a tree or large branch crashed to the ground not far from me. I hate it when that happens. Follow up: I didn't sleep too good what with the near constant lightning, thunder and heavy rain.
