2009-04-17 I spent the entire day cruising Highway 10. The road was wide enough, but was hilly, curvy and completely inundated with logging trucks. My suspicion is that I saw the same few trucks over and over, but I really have no idea. It does seem as though they gave me more space as the day went on, as if it took them a couple of passes to realize they are pushing a thousand times more mass than me. Or maybe I just grew numb. As has been the case lately, the weather was utterly beautiful. I probably could have pulled off another hundred-mile day if I hadn't stopped in Meridian, Mississippi. I don't know what it is in these southern states, but folks have a real penchant for tiny dogs. It's comical when they give chase. The fire ant bites are only slightly ugly marks now.
