2009-03-10 Florida doesn't have a lot of interior roads, so those roads are very busy. Fortunately, they are also very wide. The only part of today not on those busy roads took place in the Ocala National Forest. I trekked across it on dirt roads. I saw turkey, deer, a raccoon and other critters. The dirt roads revealed many hints of other animals including at least three separate bear tracks. Also I heard womp three distinct times. It sounded like metal clashing in the distance. I still have no idea what it was. I met a guy who claimed to have biked 7000 km (4349 miles--I had to look it up) across Canada in 7 weeks. He seemed legit. I think I am the only person down here without a tan. Hopefully some of my sunburns will go to tan as I work in a hotel for the next few days.
