2009-05-03 At one point I had considered setting up camp beneath a bridge in order to hide from the storms. Good thing I didn't because the storms would have found me. The flooding here isn't severe, but it sure would have ruined my day.Speaking of ruined days, there comes a point when you grow tired of being cold and wet. And then there comes a point when you stop caring. Even after the pouring rain stopped the clouds continued to saturate me with a fine mist for the rest of the day. The rest of the day didn't last too long, though. Once in Texas I stopped at a seedy little hotel in the seedy city of Texarkana. I unpacked everything and hung it up (including my hammock). I dialed the air conditioning down to 62 degrees in hopes that it would drop the humidity enough that everything would dry. It didn't. Tomorrow begins a new phase to my travels. |
